Amanda Kornblum, LMSW
Amanda Kornblum is a clinical child and adolescent therapist and author. Amanda specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, disruptive behavior disorders, ADHD, and social skills issues. Amanda strongly believes in providing evidence-based treatment to children, adolescents, and their families. Amanda works closely with families, schools, and other healthcare providers to ensure that her patients are supported in different settings. Amanda’s energetic and optimistic nature allow her to establish strong connections with children and their families. Her approach includes methods designed to support children in raising their self-esteem, face their fears, emphasize their strengths, and maintain positive relationships with family, peers, and teachers through psychoeducation and development of coping skills.
Amanda has extensive training in diagnostic assessment and treating internalizing and externalizing disorders. Amanda is a certified Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and certified Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE )therapist. Additionally, Amanda provides behavioral parent training to support parents in enhancing parent-child relationships and implementing appropriate limit setting techniques. Furthermore, Amanda has expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
Amanda is the author of two children’s books that focus on child mental health titled I Am Not Alone and Where Am I?. These books have been utilized in numerous clinical and school settings.
Amanda received her Master’s degree from Columbia University where she specialized in Advanced Clinical Practice. Amanda attended New York University for her undergraduate studies and majored in Applied Psychology. Upon graduation, Amanda was awarded with the NYU Steinhardt Banner Bearer Award, the NYU Founder’s Day Award, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
